The Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP^TM) is a credential for learning and performance professionals offered by the ASTD Certification Institute. It is broad-based and addresses nine areas of expertise as defined by the ASTD Competency Model.

CPLP Fast Facts

Becoming CPLP certified enhances your credibility by recognizing that you have met performance standards, have an overall understanding of the body of knowledge of your field, and can apply what you know. Credentials benefit individuals by providing a roadmap for professional development while proving value in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Testing Process

• Knowledge Exam: 150 multiple choice questions covering the nine Areas of Expertise from the ASTD Competency Model
• Work Product Assessment: a sample of recent project work and essay responses

CNY ASTD CPLP Resources and Study Group

CNY ASTD members can avail themselves of resources to assist in evaluating and preparing for the CPLP.

• discussing the value and process of obtaining a CPLP with other CNY ASTD members who have or are going through the CPLP process
• the ASTD Learning System, a self-directed learning resource for preparing for the knowledge-based certification exam
• Study Groups to help individuals prepare for the CPLP
