Credentialing Process
- Work Experience: professionals with 3 or more years of related work experience are invited to participate in the CPLP program
- Knowledge Exam: 150 multiple choice questions covering the nine Areas of Expertise from the ASTD Competency Model
- Work Product Assessment: a sample of recent project work and essay responses

CNY ASTD members can avail themselves of resources to assist in evaluating and preparing for the CPLP.
- discussing the value and process of obtaining a CPLP with others who have or are going through the CPLP process
- ASTD Learning System resources, self-directed learning tools for preparing for the knowledge-based certification exam
- other learning resources to assist in preparing for the CPLP
